About
After a modest beginning, Spring Creek Community House developed into a thriving community hub and is now in its third decade. In November 2018 the Community House Celebrated its 25th Anniversary and changed its name to Torquay Community House.
History
Spring Creek House was born
A small group of Torquay locals determined there was a need for a community centre, which was initially housed within Torquay Community Health Center on Bell Street.
Moved to Price Street
Spring Creek House moved to bigger premises on Price Street.
Springboard was born
In 1996, Spring Creek Community House developed the community newsletter ‘Springboard’ which was distributed to over 6000 households and drop-off points by hand and via email.
Renovations
Council applied for a grant to extend the building in Price Street and create more rooms to accommodate its growth.
Torquay Community House
In November 2018, the Community House Celebrated its 25th Anniversary and changed its name to Torquay Community House.
Springboard goes digital
The Springboard moved to solely being in the digital space at the onset of the pandemic.

Torquay Community House would not exist without our wonderful team of volunteers. They ensure that your community house is a friendly, welcoming, fun and stimulating place to be.
BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
The Board of Management consists of volunteers who are elected at our Annual General Meeting or co-opted in the interim period for a two-year term.
